Inclusion

This is the statement which underpins all of the policies and practices at St Ursula's E-ACT Academy.

  • St Ursula's E-ACT Academy is committed to inclusion
  • The academy aims to provide an appropriate and high quality education for all children living in our local communities
  • We believe that all children have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum
  • This will readily be made accessible to them and they will be fully included in all aspects of academy life

We believe that Inclusion is essential in ensuring the equality of opportunity for all learners whatever their age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, attainment and background. This demonstrates our commitment to valuing the diversity of the academy community.  We will pay particular attention to the provision for and achievement of all, in our academy activities and policies.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

We are currently discussing issues such as:

  • Ensuring all children who want to are able to participate in school trips and camps
  • how the work at St Ursula's E-ACT Academy on inclusion can be recognised by a Bristol City Council 'inclusion standard'

PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES

  • Questionnaires on inclusion and parents' / carers' feedback on school provision are sent out on a regular basis. Actions taken following such questionnaires include e.g. improving the quality of the playground resources and listing after school clubs available to different year groups at the beginning of the year.
